Dr. Jérôme Auger is the specialist in charge of the surgery department of the hospital. He completed an internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph and his residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Dr. Louis Huneault graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1999, and did a small animal internship at the same university. He went into private practice in Rhode Island (United States) in 2000, and quickly undertook a surgery residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal. After completing his residency at the end of 2003, and a Masters degree studying the treatment of post-traumatic osteomyelitis, he worked as an assistant professor in small animal surgery at the FVM of the Université de Montréal. In his research, he worked primarily on the local delivery systems of antibiotics and the osseointegration of implants such as prosthetic hips.
He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2005. He received the Norden award for excellence in teaching in 2006-2007 at the FVM. During the summer of 2007, he joined the team of the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud where he practices specialty surgery.
