He received the Damase-Généreux Award from the Académie de médecine vétérinaire du Québec in 1991 and the Gaines Veterinary Award from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association in 1985.

Dr. Yves Gosselin’s publications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and owner and chief executive officer of the HVRS since 1985, Dr. Gosselin earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1970. He also holds a small animal internal medicine residency certificate from the University of Illinois, USA, which he earned in 1975.

Upon his return in Québec, Dr. Yves Gosselin began a career at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in Saint-Hyacinthe. He was successively:

  • Assistant professor
  • Director of the small animal hospital
  • Associate professor

Dr. Gosselin has also been a member, president or administrator of many committees and associations :

  • President of the Scientific Committee of the Académie de médecine vétérinaire du Québec

Jérôme Auger,
DVM, M.Sc., DACVS/DECVS
Surgery specialist

Dr. Auger is the specialist in charge of the surgery department of the hospital. He completed an internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph and his residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and also of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Jean-Sébastien Boileau,
DVM, ACVIM (cardiology)
Cardiology specialist
Dr. Boileau graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 2002, and did an internship in pet medicine and general surgery at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in 2002-2003 (Southfield, Michigan). He then completed a residency in cardiology at the Animal Medical Center from 2003 to 2006 (New York, NY). A diplomate in cardiology of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Boileau worked as a clinician and was the founder of the cardiology department of the Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists hospital in New York. He also worked as a consultant for Navix Diagnostics from 2006 to 2010, a company specialized in Holter monitoring. Dr. Boileau has worked at the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud since September 2010.

Jacques Dupuis,
DMV, MS, Dipl. ACVS
Surgery specialist

We are pleased to announce that Doctor Jacques Dupuis, surgery specialist, joined our team on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Dr. Dupuis graduated from the Université de Montréal (DMV 1985) where he subsequently performed an internship in pet medicine and surgery. He practiced privately in the Montreal region for 3 years before doing a residency and completing a master’s degree in pet surgery at Washington State University (1989-1992). He remained at Washington State an additional year as clinical instructor before returning to the Université de Montréal in 1993 ini the capacity of associate professor.

Dr. Dupuis received a degree from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1994. Thanks to the excellence of his work, he was promoted to full professor in 2003 but decided to leave the academic field to pursue a career in private practice at the Centre DMV where he offered specialized service in pet surgery (orthopaedic, neuro and general surgeries). Dr. Dupuis has written over thirty scientific articles on orthopedic surgery and has given lectures throughout the world (France, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, Italy as well as Quebec, Canada and the United States.

Dr. Dupuis has been president of the committee of specialists of the Ordre des Médecins Vétérinaires du Québec for some ten years. He held the office of vice-president and now sits on the AMVQ executive committee. He was awarded the Damase-Généreux prize by the AMVQ in 2003.



Pierre Clerfont,
DMV, IPSAV
Surgery Resident

Dr. Clerfond graduated from the ’École Nationale Vétérinaire de Nantes in June 2009. He next completed an internship in applied veterinary science (IPSAV) at the Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire de l’Université de Montréal in 2009-2010, followed by a specialized internship in pet surgery at the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud in 2010-2011.

He is currently doing a residency at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons under the supervision of Doctors Auger, Dupuis and Huneault with a view to becoming a surgery specialist. His residency program will extend from July 2011 to July 2014. Dr Clerfond has written a thesis on the anatomical bases of head and neck surgeries in dogs. His particular interests are skin reconstruction surgery and total hip replacement.



Louis Huneault,
DVM, DES, M.Sc, DACVS
Surgery specialist


After graduating from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1999, Dr. Huneault did a small animal internship at the same university.

He went in private practice in Rhode Island (United States) in 2000, and quickly undertook a surgery residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal. After completing his residency at the end of 2003, and a Masters degree studying the treatment of post-traumatic osteomyelitis, he worked as an assistant professor in small animal surgery at the FVM of the Université de Montréal. During his research, he worked primarily on the local delivery systems of antibiotics and the osseointegration of implants such as prosthetic hips. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2005.

He received the Norden award for excellence in teaching in 2006-2007 at the FVM. During the summer of 2007, he joined the team of the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud where he practices specialty surgery.



Manon L'Écuyer
DVM, IPSAV, DES, ACVIM
Internal Medicine Specialist

Dr. Lécuyer completed her DVM at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1990.

She then completed her internship development training in applied veterinary sciences (IPSAV) and a residency in internal medicine (DES) at the same institution.

From late 1993 to 1998, she worked as a lecturer at the Faculty and then made the transition to private practice from 1998-1999 to work at the Centre vétérinaire DMV.
Thereafter, she worked as a clinician in internal medicine at the Faculty from 1999 to 2007.
She graduated from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 1998.

She also holds a specialty certificate in internal medicine from the OMVQ since 1995.
Her fields of interest are feline medicine in all its forms, endocrinology and gastroenterology as well as all aspects of endoscopy. She has worked at the HVRS (Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud) since July 2007.


Mylène-Kim Leclerc ,
DVM, D.E.S., DACVIM (Neurology)
Neurology Specialist

Dr. Leclerc graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 2004. She then worked in a private practice in the south shore of Montréal for 12 months at the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud before undertaking a neurology residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal, which she completed in 2010. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medecine (Neurology) since 2011.

During the summer of 2010, she joined the team of the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud where she practices neurology specialty.

 


Mylène Taillefer,
DVM, DES, MVSC, ACVIM
Internal Medicine Specialist

Dr. Taillefer graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1999. She then completed a general internship and an internal small animal medicine internship at the Centre vétérinaire DVM. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine since 2004.

Her training also includes a Masters degree in veterinary clinical sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal. She worked as a clinician in internal medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 2004-2005. She has worked at the HVRS since September 2006.



Patricia Dorval, DVM, DES, Dipl. ACVECC
Emergency Specialist

 

Dr. Dorval graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1999. She was also an intern at this university in 1999-2000.

She then worked in private practice here, at the Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud, for 5 years before undertaking an emergency and intensive care residency at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal, which she completed in 2009.



Guy Beauregard,
DVM, IPSAV
Medical Imaging Specialist

Dr. Beauregard graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal in 1984. Then, he continued his training by doing a medicine and small animal surgery internship at the same institution. From 1985 to 1996, he worked exclusively as a surgeon: three years at the HVRS and the rest at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire (CHUV) of the Université de Montréal.

In 1996, he stopped doing surgery to become a medical imaging clinician at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire of the Université de Montréal.
Dr. Beauregard has worked at the HVRS since March 12, 2007.


Lara Rose ,
DVM, DES, ACVIM
Internal Medicine Specialist

Dr. Rose was born in Montréal and began her university studies at McGill University in animal biology. Subsequently she completed her DVM at the Université de Montréal.
In 2005-2006, she completed an internship in medicine and surgery for small animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island.

Afterward, she did her residency in small animal internal medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal, which she completed in July 2009. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medecine since 2011.







Angelika Stock,
DVM, PHD, DES
Breeding Specialist

Dr. Stock earned her DVM in Munich, Germany, where she also obtained a Doctorate in bovine reproduction. In addition, she has a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology from Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY. She conducted post-doctoral research in animal embryology and in assisted fertilization techniques; she also did a residency in animal breeding.

Her aim is to apply recent breakthroughs in assisted fertilization and endocrinology, while offering suitable professional services to dog and cat breeders as well as to Québec veterinarians. Her long-term goal is to allow for international-level genetic exchanges to insure the well-being of future purebred dogs and cats in Québec and elsewhere.




Louis-Philippe de Lorimier,
DVM, ACVIM
Oncology Specialist


After a B.Sc. degree from McGill University in 1991, Dr. de Lorimier obtained his DVM from the Université de Montréal in 1996. Following 4 years of small animal general practice in Montréal, he enrolled in a medical oncology training program at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2000. Upon completion of his residency in 2003, he stayed on as clinical assistant professor until 2007.


Dr. de Lorimier is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in Oncology, and joined the team of specialists at Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud in July 2007. He sits on several oncology-related committees and boards, is an oncology consultant on the Veterinary Information Network (www.vin.com), and collaborates with veterinary and comparative oncology networks. 


Author or co-author of fourty scientific papers and 12 book chapters, his main interests include novel cancer therapeutics, comparative oncology, pain control, and palliative and supportive care aiming to improve his patients’ quality of life.
